#91 "Sven From Germany" -- The Grizzly Bear Egg Cafe
Jul 13, 2010
In this week's episode of the Grizzly Bear Egg Cafe we chat about crappy customer service. What does Best Buy have in common with Starbucks? They both don't know how to make a Cinnamon Dulce Latté.

Mike is actually incorrect about Man of Colours being the highest selling Australian album by an Australian artist, that honor actually goes to "Whispering Jack" by John Farnham, which outsold Man of Colours by almost a 3 to 1 ratio.
The top 5 highest selling Australia albums are as follows:
Whispering Jack - John Farnham
Innocent Eyes - Delta Goodrem
Savage Garden - Savage Garden
Greatest Hits - Crowded House
Don't Ask - Tina Arena
Fortunately, Owen did not serious, simple home after treatment. He described the "beat" feels like "a heavyweight boxers war with 10 rounds. "The errors," he said, "the water view a... I face, chest, abdomen and legs hurt. I want to return, but not swim. Two sons to pull me out today my body... with bruises, but still okay." http://www.discount-vibramfivefingers.com
You guys...
I was sitting here listening the podcast, and I could literally see you sitting there talking, complaining about preposterous service in a distinctive English accent (kind of like Stewart Gilligan Griffin), sporting a 3 piece suit top hat and a monocle, and of course drinking tea and listening Antonio Vivaldi, hehehe I like my coffee black no sugar no cream, whip cream???, really?? Hehehe you guys crack me up.
I really enjoyed this episode. Your discussion about customer service (or the lack thereof) was spot on. I think I have the ultimate Best Buy customer service experience. My husband and I were in the store, bought a few things and decided to apply for a Best Buy credit card. Imagine our shock when the card came with his first name on the card being A**hole (without the *s). I was floored. I called Best Buy and rained down on them about how could they even let this happen. They were very apologetic and told me later that the employee who did this was identified and subsequently. Not sure it I believe that but whatever. As compensation, they gave us a $100 gift card. We spent the gift card but will not shop there anymore.
I listened to this podcast while walking to Central Park this morning, and was amused to hear the thunderstorm that had diverted my planed to Philadelphia. I quite liked this episode, as it really felt like two old friends talking, without any kind of agenda, which is what the podcast is all about in its purest form. That, and Mike lying about Clayton.
The Red Hood, as I recall, was originally from the Killing Joke, and was the identity a certain poor sap was using before Batman knocked him into a vat of chemicals and he switched to a new identity that worked out better for him. It was also prominent in the penultimate episode of the first season of Brave and the Bold, which I only just got to watch thanks to Netflix. Thanks again, guys, for telling me about that show in the first place.
LOL....well, I wrote to Starbucks and told them that while I didn't like their coffee, people I like, do. And I sent the link to your podcast! So Mike, I'm helping you out, bud!
