#120 "Homely Superman" - The Grizzly Bear Egg Café

Like clock work The Grizzly Bear Egg Café is back with another episode and this week the guys have gotten a bit nostalgic.  It all started with Mike cleaning off his iPod of past Grizz episodes and that stokes the walk down memory lane.  Can you name our most reviled episode?  You'll find out!  The guys also chat about Christopher Nolan's casting choice for the new Superman.  Jim Harold joins us to talk about the week's paranormal news.  And Clayton spins a guilty pleasure song.  Oh and we can't forget... Michael Caine makes a surprise appearance on this week's Grizz.  Can you top that?  No.

Hello, I've been listening to the podcast for the past few weeks now, maybe a month and a half, I'm not sure. I'm a fan of Chikara and gave the podcast a try after Mr. Q-bush plugged it on his Twitter incessantly. Even though I don't watch TV, movies, or really read comics anymore, I've still always loved superheroes and you guys share a lot of the same sensibilities I do about that stuff, so it's still a good show to listen to.

But anyway more to the point, I was wondering if you guys had heard of this Metered Internet Usage thing that's happening in Canada right now: http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news/2011/01/canada-gets-first-bitter-dose-of-metered-internet-billing.ars

Obviously this seems like a bad deal for anybody who uses a lot of internet and I'm really surprised by how bold a change they're going for right away, so maybe you guys can use your vast influence to at least help spread awareness of this new policy. If this kinda thing goes over in Canada, it could spread to other countries and that would be worse.

Oh, and "Oops, I Did it Again"? That's a bit beyond guilty pleasure and more cry for help. Yikes.

Ok, I have to get this in first and foremost. I'm not overly excited about the Spiderman reboot. However, the movies culminating to The Avengers have me ecstatic. ESPECIALLY Captain America. Thoughts?

Thanks for running through my comments on #120! I still love Batman Returns, cheese factor aside. Hans Zimmer's 'The Dark Knight' score was incredible. And I still haven't been able to start The Wire or Justified (though I did buy Season 1 of Justified - it was on sale), but I'll get to them both this week.

And just to share, I'm an on-air meteorologist in Oklahoma City and as you might or might not know, we were hit with a decent-size snowstorm (by Oklahoma standards) this past week and I've been working non-stop, so my downtime has been very limited. But as soon as I have some time off, I'm digging into The Wire and Justified.

I loved the podcast again this week, despite the Britney Spears (shudder), and look forward to more next week. With any luck, I'll listen to it while possibly snowed in at the TV station. Again.

I dont really have one guilty pleasure song. I have a whole genre. I listen to alot of trance, techno, and progressive music. And 90% of people I interact with on a daily basis HATE that music. I only know like 10-15 people that will acctually listen to it. So its usually turned off when someone else gets in the car.

Love the show guys.
