Pickup trucks make up a decent chunk of the cars in the US, and it’s about time that one of the biggest manufacturers in the US takes charge of developing one of the best EV trucks yet.

Appearance
Tesla might have some of the most stunning EV cars in the market right now, but let’s be honest here, the Tesla Cybertruck is just plain ugly. Yes, we know Elon Musk claims that he made it look that way because he wants to revolutionize how pickup trucks look, but it doesn’t change that it’s ugly.
However, the GMC Hummer EV is far from being ugly. It looks like what the Tesla Cybertruck wants to be. If there is one way to describe the GMC Hummer EV is that it’s a truck from a futuristic sci-fi movie. The one that the good guys would use. It makes you want to buy it just for its looks, but once you figure out its overall performance, you’d probably put it on your must-buy list.
Engine and Performance
The GMC Hummer EV sports a three-electric motor engine to produce 1,000 horsepower. That’s pretty powerful for an EV pickup and one that many are trying to imitate. Moreover, it’s expected to have a torque power of 1000 to 1100 lb-ft. That’s impressive pull power from, once again, a truck that doesn’t use a diesel engine if they don’t change anything on its release. It’s looking like it be one of the more powerful trucks in the market.
Overall Range
The range of the GMC Hummer EV is probably where it falls short but by just a little bit. EVs are still struggling to get decent mileage out of their charges, and sure, it’s pretty amazing that its fast charger can give you 100 miles in just 10 minutes (given that you’ve found the right terminal for it), but a maximum of 350 miles is just not as good. Charging times can be longer when you do it at home or on regular charging terminals.
We’re also unsure whether using power-extensive tasks with the vehicle, such as towing or off-road driving, will affect its energy consumption. Hopefully, it’ll handle these tasks without using too much power because we’re guessing that many off-riders and business entrepreneurs will use this.
Release Date
The release date is probably one of the great problems with the GMC Hummer EV. It’s expected to release in 2024, and we’re assuming that it’s going to be late 2024, considering that it’s still in its prototype stage. Hopefully, there’ll be more additions to this futuristic vehicle, and we’re hoping that the range can be increased by just a bit. However, if you’re itching to get an EV truck this year, then F-150 Lighting is a good alternative.
Alternative: F-150 Lightning
2024 is still pretty far if we think about it, and we can only wish that General Motors could build it a lot faster. But if you’re itching to purchase an EV truck this year, then your alternative is the F-150 Lightning from Ford.
The F-150 Lightning won’t have the same top performance as the GMC Hummer EV, but that’s because it has the advantage of being released this year and not in 2024. It’ll be available in many car dealerships. Also, if you’re looking for a good lifted truck for sale, this is the best option for you because rumor has it that this EV will come out lifted and ready to go. It might not have the same performance as the GMC Hummer EV, but you’ll certainly feel what EV trucks are capable of by purchasing this vehicle.
EV trucks are the trucks of the future, and the GMC Hummer EV shows that in full swing. It looks like a vehicle from a high-budget sci-fi movie, and its performance is beyond anything we’ve dreamed of. Once it’s released, we’re betting that it’s going to be the first truck that can be driven on the surface of the moon or maybe even Mars.
