For sure, many of you gents have been stuck in your cities or towns and even your own homes for far too long this year. And you can’t wait for the COVID-19 pandemic to be over, so you can get out there and experience the world once again.
Hopefully, the pandemic will be over sooner rather than later, and everyone will be able to travel freely and safely again. But while waiting for this to happen, it wouldn’t hurt you to get started on making a list of possible destinations for your future travels. Check out some great suggestions below.
Adventure trips
Do you want to get your adrenaline pumping when you go on a trip? Then, adventure travel is perfect for you. Conquer your fear of heights by trying the two-mile zip line over the active Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica. If you have to satisfy your need for speed while navigating rugged terrain, then grab your friends and bring ATVs or dirt bikes to the exciting trails for some off-roading adventure. For water thrills, go white-water rafting in Chile and take on Futaleufú River’s Terminator. Just remember to bring with you a lot of courage not only to try extreme adventures but also to back out of them when you suddenly lose your mojo!
Cultural trips
The world would certainly be a better place if every human being just learned to respect each other’s cultures, don’t you think? So go on cultural trips and try to be that human being. For example, you can go to Taiwan and discover for yourself that burping is actually a compliment to a host’s cooking skills and not at all offensive. When in Japan, refrain from discussing the Second World War because it’s still a sensitive topic for the Japanese. Koreans sit and sleep on the floor, so make it a point to remove your shoes whenever you enter a Korean home. When you’re traveling to a different country, always be respectful of the people’s customs, beliefs, history, language, art, etc., and never try to impose your own.
Zen trips
Sometimes, though, the best trips to take are the ones that let you connect with yourself. And this is what Zen travel is all about. Head to Bhutan and stay in a mountain village. The many Buddhist temples and the serene scenery there will surely help you meditate. You can also go to Africa. Live with a tribe there and learn to appreciate the beauty of simple living. Or maybe travel to an island untouched by modern developments somewhere in Southeast Asia and enjoy the calming effect of crashing waves and breathtaking sunsets. Wherever you choose to go, make sure to forget about your life (and your gadgets!) even for a little while and find time to commune with yourself and reflect on your life.
See the World Anew
Once it’s safe to travel again, get out there and see the world anew. Go on an adventure, cultural travels, and Zen trips and see for yourself how wonderful the world and its people still are.
