Let’s get something straight—30th birthdays matter. In fact, they probably matter more to men than they do to women. After all, a woman is considered “over the hill” at 40 and beyond, but a man of 30 has yet to reach his prime years in most people’s eyes.
If you’re on the verge of your 30th birthday, you might be feeling a bit anxious right now. It’s perfectly normal to feel this way because it is something everyone should go through.
Don’t feel bad about turning the big 3-0. Some people despise getting older and are obsessed with staying young forever, but having an enjoyable 30th birthday celebration is all about accepting that you are entering another year of your life. This doesn’t mean that you have to start acting like an older man just yet!
You’ll still be able to do all the things around town and maybe even partake in some activities that most people stop doing after they graduate college or turn 25 years old.
Keep in mind that there’s no reason why you can’t celebrate your 30th birthday as lavishly as a 40th or 50th. After all, it is a milestone year for everyone who hits this age—regardless of their gender. If you have the money for an epic party, you can throw one without hesitation.
However, if you’re one of those people whose budget isn’t quite as flexible at the moment and someone else is planning your party, don’t sweat it too much. There’s always next year!
Buy Some New Clothes
If possible, you must get yourself some nice new clothes for this occasion so that you feel like it’s your day. Get dressed while you meet your friends, have a party, or organize a small get-together. You will feel more confident and upbeat when you’re dressed in new clothes.
Don’t Forget to Get Yourself a Gift
Although it’s not mandatory, it’s definitely a must-treat for yourself. The good news is that there are plenty of cool 30th birthday presents for guys to choose from depending on their needs and budget.
The possibilities are endless when it comes to gifts. For example, your hobby is photography. Is there any better gift than an actual Nikon camera? Go splurge and treat yourself! It doesn’t have to be extravagant, though. You can give yourself a high-quality pan with some new utensils if you love cooking.
Do Something Extreme
If you’re having a party, look at what you have done so far. Are you satisfied? If not, perhaps you can think of some other activities to do for your 30th birthday celebration.
For the guys reading this article, there are many things that would be cool to try once or twice in your life when you turn 30 years old. Whether it’s skydiving over the Grand Canyon or riding a motorcycle across Route 66, now is as good of a time as any to give something big a chance.
Pamper Yourself
Why not enjoy a relaxing spa day? How about booking an appointment at the best salon in town and getting that new haircut or perm that you’ve been thinking about for months? Keep in mind that organic skincare products are probably the biggest trend in men’s fashion right now.
For a photo-worthy smile, don’t skip your dentist appointments. How often do you visit the dentist? Having your teeth cleaned once or twice a year should be more than enough. If you need to get some work done on them, it’s okay. Do anything that will make you feel more confident.
Do Something You Can Relive on Video
In this day and age, why not do something that might turn out to be a bit of a spectacle? You can film it from multiple angles and upload it on YouTube so that everyone can see how awesome your 30th birthday turned out. If possible, get a professional videographer to capture the whole thing for you.
Have some fun with this. Not only will it give your friends new content to post on social media while showing how much they care about you, but it might also save them from embarrassing themselves in front of an audience if they are dared to do something crazy.
Celebrate Alone
There are plenty of things you can do on your own if no one wants to join along, like checking out local art galleries, attending special events, and watching concerts around town. You can also eat dinner alone and let the atmosphere of you turning a year older set in. You can go on a trip alone, too. Meditate in the mountains or have a nice beach trip.
Whether it’s your 30th, 40th, or 50th birthday, simply having fun and enjoying yourself is something special in itself. After all, who can ever say that they’ve had an enjoyable time during their 60th or 70th birthday?
