Your Quick Guide to Preparing for an Eyelash Extension Appointment

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, they say. If you yourself are your own beholder, you may want to highlight the features of your face. Your eyes are among your assets, and they will be more highlighted if they have a pair of accentuating lashes. Unfortunately, not everyone is blessed with long, beautiful eyelashes.

This is something you should not worry about since there are many salons and aesthetic clinics that offer volume eyelash extensions in Las Vegas. Finding one should not be a problem. If you want to find the best, though, you may need to ask your friends for recommendations or go through directories and read reviews. Before you head to your appointment, you may want to keep a few things in mind to ensure that the application of your extension will be successful and more importantly, comfortable.

Here are some of the pointers you need to keep in mind.

Tip #1: No make-up please

This should be the first thing that you have in mind before visiting your eyelash artist. Makeup can interfere with the way your artist applies the lashes. In the process, things can get messy — your make-up will be smudged and your artist’s hands will get dirty. The most important thing to remember is that you should not wear waterproof mascara. Such makeup contains ingredients that may cause the adhesive to lose its bond. Even if you clean your face before the appointment, some traces of the ingredients may remain in your eyelash. That means you should not wear waterproof mascara some days before the appointment.

Tip #2: Have your face cleansed

Oil-based products, which are not always makeup, may affect the adhesive of the lashes. What you should do is avoid using oil-based products, such as makeup removers, moisturizing oils, and lotions before coming in. Simple cleaning will do. Do not forget to wash and clean your lashes. Your stylist should not waste time deep cleaning your lashes.

Tip #3: Wash your hair

While you are at it, you may want to wash your hair thoroughly before going to your appointment. You will be likely reminded that you will not be able to wash your hair within the next 24 hours. The adhesive may take a day before it is fully bonded. Likewise, going to the sauna in the next 24 hours is not allowed.

Tip #4: Do not wear your jewelry and accessories

You may feel like ornamenting yourself on the day of your eyelash extension application. But, go against this urge, as it may affect the procedure. Remember that you will be lying down when your stylist applies the lashes. If you wear dangling earrings, your ears will feel heavy and you will be uncomfortable. Contact lens may also cause problems, as the solution may affect the adhesive. You may choose to wear glasses instead.

Eyelash extensions will help you accentuate your important assets — the eyes. You may feel inconvenienced when it comes to preparations, but you will realize in the end that your preparations will be all worth it.
